Ever wonder where jalapenos come from? Ever seen how Brussels sprouts or celery grow? The truth is that most of us haven’t, because we can just get them from the grocery store or Farmer’s Market. It’s that easy. And, if they have that “Organic” sticker on them, we’re even willing to pay more money for them. But there is another way to go at this. It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and it even saves you money. So, this week, we want you to DIG IN. When is the last time you put your hands in the soil? You know, in that have-to-dig-the-dirt-out-from-under-your-fingernails sort of way. Well now is the time. Spring is the air and it is the perfect time to plant a garden. It’s simple. Figure out what you want to plant, do your homework to make sure it will grow in your climate, purchase the seeds and some dirt and a container if you need one, plant, water, and watch Mother Nature’s big show. Done. We promise it will be one of the most rewarding things you do in 2017. And, if you pick the right soil and don’t use pesticides, you can even put your own “Organic” sticker on them. It’s time for all of us to DIG IN and plant some food. Digging in matters.
