Are you ready to smile? Are you ready to laugh… like till it hurts? Hope so. Typically, when taking action on getting healthier, the two areas that get most of the attention are diet and exercise. Calories in and calories out, right? Pretty simple equation. However, there is a third part to the health equation, that some would argue, is even more important than diet and exercise. It’s called, “Emotional Health.” These days, most experts agree that our health should be viewed more holistically, or with an understanding of how our physical, mental, and emotional health are connected and how these elements affect each other. Think about it. When we are happy, we make healthier food choices. When we eat healthier, we use our brains more fully and have more energy to exercise. And, when we exercise, it releases endorphins and relieves the stress that can be a drag on our emotional and physical health. So, this week, it’s time to CELEBRATE JOY, because it’s one of the simplest things we can do to boost our health. Being joyful lowers blood pressure, increases brain activity, speeds up our metabolism, and strengthens our immune system. Oh, and it’s just flat out fun. What could be better than that? Nothing. So, let’s get happy. Celebrating joy matters.
