01 Feb THIS MONTH: MONDAY GETS RESPECTFUL
Even with all we believe from religion, philosophy, psychology, sociology, evolution, and economics or whatever you believe, there is one rule that remains constant. In fact, it might be the one rule that has always connected us… a true link between all people. It’s, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” or The Golden Rule. We like to think that this rule is alive and well and will continue to be, well, for forever. But lately, we see this rule taking a back to seat to some others things that are not quite so positive and constructive. So this month, we think it’s time to get back into the habit of asking ourselves whether or not “we are doing unto others as we would have them do unto us?” Are we truly showing regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, and traditions of others? And, are we showing appreciation, politely speaking to and about one another day in and day out? Because these statements are actually just the definitions of “respect” adapted into questions. Respect is at the root of The Golden Rule. In fact, it’s through respect for ourselves and for one another that we’ll create a world filled with people who know how much and why they matter. So get ready for a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Respect matters.
