We are powerful. We have dreams and imaginations. We have actions and words, thoughts and feelings, brains and brawn, the ability to communicate and build relationships, and a seemingly endless supply of energy that powers us, even when we’re sleeping. In a lot of ways, we are miracles. Being alive is pretty remarkable when we stop to ponder and appreciate it. However, living also poses a real challenge—it means that we are equipped and responsible to create our own lives. Sure, there are forces that are larger than us, but we also sit nicely in our own driver’s seat. We hold the paintbrush in front of the blank canvas. We conduct our symphony. So this week, we want you to OWN IT. You can’t get committed without taking ownership. It’s time to take responsibility for what you want and finally going after it. Own your desires and put in the work. Show up and give it all you’ve got. Don’t just talk about what’s important to you—do the work and follow through. Make your life what you want it to be. Give yourself time to think about what you want, reflect, plan, and find support. Find a role model of someone who “owns it” often and learn from them. Face doubt head-on. And, own when something isn’t “it” anymore, let go, and move on. Owning it really does matter.
