This is a very special day. It’s the last Monday of not just the year, but also the decade. It is also the final week of what has been a very hope-filled month. So as much as we want to look back and celebrate the experiences of our past, we also want to take this moment to look forward, for we have a new year and a new decade waiting for us. So what do you want for the future? Who do you want to be? What do you want to achieve? How do you want to grow? It’s time to take a moment to SET AN INTENTION, because that intention will serve as our North Star as we navigate the days, weeks, and months ahead. Merriam-Webster defines intention as, “a determination to act in a certain way.” To take it a step further, determination is defined as, “a firmness of purpose; resoluteness.” So intentions are not something to be taken lightly. They are not just a wish or a “wouldn’t it be nice if” sort of thing. They are meaningful and require action, resolve, and determination. So what is one intention you have for yourself? Maybe it is a certain way of being, like being more patient or generous. Or maybe it is related to your education, career, or personal relationships. Whatever it is, or they are, only set it if you intend to see it through. Setting an intention matters.
